In nature, these qualities serve as a protection of the Cork Oak (quercus suber) which can reach a height of 40 ft. The bark of the Cork Oak is stripped
for the first time when the tree is approximately 25 years old. Successive stripping follows every nine years, which stimulates the tree to produce new bark.
The Cork Oak, which can reach an age of 200 years, grows in Portugal and in the counties bordering the Mediterranian Sea. Owing to careful selection of the cork bark,
and modern cork processing methods, the floorcovering manufactured by Solida remains wear-resistant and flexible for many years. Cork is a durable product, resilient in nature and application.
The Solida Collection includes massively pressed cork tiles, cork tiles laminated with a natural cork veneer and floating floor cork strips.
The cork tiles with veneer have a backing if fine-grounded, compressed cork. The backing is laminated with a decorative veneer. The cork strips are laid loose from the sub-floor (floating floor).
There is an intermediate layer of MDF-board (EUR 1) which is fitted with tongue and groove for a quick and lasting connection. Cork strips are supplied both with and without vinyl top layer.

Almost any sub-floor is suitable, because Easy Cork is a floating floor, the cork strips are not glued to the sub-floor. The cork strips are fitted with tongue and groove for a quick and durable connection.
